The sky had been clear all morning, but just as the school bell rang and students began packing their bags, dark clouds rolled in. A soft drizzle turned into steady rain — and little Quynh, standing under the school roof, looked worried. She had forgotten her umbrella at home.
Just as the raindrops began falling harder, a familiar figure appeared at the school gate — it was Monkey Kaka, holding a bright yellow umbrella and looking determined.
Teachers and students gasped in surprise. “Is that… Kaka with an umbrella?” someone laughed joyfully.
Kaka trotted up, careful not to let the umbrella blow away. Her little feet splashed through puddles, but her focus never wavered. She reached Quynh, looked up, and gently held the umbrella over her head.
Quynh’s eyes lit up with joy. “Kaka! You came for me?” she said, bending down to hug her furry little friend.
With a proud nod, Kaka took Quynh’s hand, and the two of them walked home together under the same umbrella — one tall, one small — sharing warmth, laughter, and a few silly splashes along the way.
People passing by couldn’t help but smile at the sight: a thoughtful monkey and his best friend braving the rain side by side.
Back home, Quynh dried Kaka’s fur with a towel and gave her a big banana as a thank-you treat. “You’re not just smart,” she whispered, “you have the kindest heart.”
And as the rain tapped gently on the windows, Kaka curled up beside Quynh, happy to have turned a rainy day into a beautiful memory.
