It was a peaceful morning at home. Bibi had gone to the market with Dad to buy fruits and vegetables, while little Lala stayed behind with a very important job — taking care of their new kitten!
The tiny kitten, with its soft fur and curious eyes, had just joined the family. Bibi told Lala, “Please watch over her while I’m gone, okay?”
Lala nodded with a big smile and gently picked up the kitten, cradling it in her arms. “Don’t worry,” she whispered, “I’ll take good care of you.”
Throughout the morning, Lala did just that. She fed the kitten warm milk, played with it using a ribbon, and even helped it nap by softly humming a lullaby. Every few minutes, Lala glanced toward the gate, hoping to see Bibi walking back.
“She’s going to be so happy,” Lala said to the kitten. “We’ll surprise her with how well you’ve behaved!”
When the kitten started to wander near the stairs, Lala carefully picked her up and placed her back in her soft bed. She was patient, gentle, and full of love — just like a real big sister.
Finally, the sound of familiar footsteps made Lala’s ears perk up. It was Bibi, returning with a basket full of fresh fruit!
As soon as Bibi walked in, Lala ran to her and said proudly, “The kitten was so good! I took care of her just like you asked!”
Bibi gave Lala a big hug. “Thank you, Lala. You did amazing!”
The three of them sat together, enjoying juicy mango slices while the kitten purred happily between them.
It was a simple moment, but full of love — a memory they would always cherish.
