It was a beautiful morning, and little Lala was helping Mom sweep the porch. The sun was shining, flowers were blooming — but neither of them knew today would be extra special.
As they sat down for breakfast, Dad walked in with a big smile and his hands behind his back.
“Happy International Women’s Day!” he announced.
Lala tilted her head. “What’s that?”
Dad bent down with a wink. “It’s a day to celebrate wonderful girls like you and amazing women like your mom!”
He pulled out two carefully wrapped gifts. One was a pink box with a bow for Lala, and the other, a delicate floral envelope for Mom.
Lala’s eyes sparkled. “For me?!”
She opened her box to find a small golden bracelet with a heart charm. Mom opened hers and found a handwritten letter from Dad, filled with words of love, respect, and gratitude.
Mom held the letter to her heart, smiling through happy tears.
“This is so thoughtful,” she whispered. “Thank you.”
Lala ran over and hugged Dad tight. “I love it! I feel like a princess!”
Dad laughed and picked her up. “Because you are.”
Later, they took photos together in the garden — Lala showing off her bracelet, Mom holding her letter close. They shared cake, sang songs, and spent the day feeling extra loved and appreciated.
That evening, as Lala curled up beside Mom, she whispered, “I want to celebrate you every day, Mom.”
Mom kissed her forehead. “And I’ll always celebrate the smart, sweet girl you are.”
Because the greatest gift wasn’t the bracelet or the letter — it was the love they shared, every day of the year.
