It was a quiet afternoon, and Thuy had just finished cleaning up the house. Everything was finally calm — until she noticed something was too quiet.
“Lala?” she called.
No answer.
She tiptoed toward the bedroom and peeked inside.
There, in front of the mirror, stood little Monkey Lala — holding Thuy’s bright red lipstick… and completely covered in it!
Lala had drawn big red circles on her cheeks, squiggly lines on her arms, and a giant wobbly smile that stretched from ear to ear. Even her tail had a dab of lipstick on the tip.
“Ta-da!” Lala announced, spinning like a fashion model. “I’m beautiful now!”
Thuy gasped, holding her head. “Lalaaaaa! That’s my best lipstick!”
Lala blinked innocently. “I was just trying to look fancy… like you!”
Trying not to laugh (and also not to cry), Thuy grabbed a tissue and gently tried to clean the mess.
But the more she wiped, the more lipstick smeared — on the floor, the mirror, even on Thuy’s own shirt!
“Oh no… now I look like a clown too,” Thuy groaned.
Lala giggled and gave her a big red kiss on the cheek. “Now we match!”
Thuy looked at her silly little monkey, red from head to toe, and finally burst into laughter. “You’re too much!”
They both ended up in the bathroom, washing off lipstick and giggling at their messy reflections.
“Next time,” Thuy said, handing Lala a toy makeup set, “you play pretend — not with the real thing!”
Lala nodded sweetly… while already eyeing the hairbrush.
Because with Lala, the mischief never ends — but neither does the laughter.
