It was a warm afternoon, and Monkey BiBi was supposed to be helping Uncle Phong organize baskets of bananas in the backyard.
“BiBi, stay close. We have work to do,” Uncle Phong reminded her gently.
BiBi nodded… but her eyes were already drifting toward the gate.
Because just beyond the fence, she could hear laughter—her neighborhood friends were calling her!
“BiBiiii! Come eat guava and mango with us!”
She looked at the banana basket… then at the giggling monkeys outside. The choice was easy.
With a sneaky grin, BiBi tiptoed away the moment Uncle Phong turned around. She leapt onto the fence, did a quick flip, and poof!—she was gone!
Uncle Phong looked up just in time to see a banana peel rolling away. “BiBi…?”
Meanwhile, BiBi was already munching on juicy watermelon with Lala and Kaka under the big jackfruit tree.
“This is the life!” she giggled, wiping juice from her cheeks.
The group shared guavas, mangosteens, and sour tamarind snacks, laughing and trading silly stories. It was the perfect fruity feast.
But suddenly… AHEM! A familiar voice boomed from behind the tree.
It was Uncle Phong—with crossed arms and one eyebrow raised.
“Uh-oh,” BiBi whispered, hiding her mango behind her back.
Uncle Phong didn’t yell. He just handed her a small napkin and smiled. “Next time, ask first. And save me a piece of that jackfruit!”
BiBi laughed in relief and gave him the biggest slice.
As the sun set, they all sat together, sharing fruit and stories—because even a runaway moment can turn sweet when it’s full of fun, forgiveness, and friends.
